Adam Frost in conversation with Chris Young: Gardens, Annotated- 5th November
Bringing together two highly respected and well-loved voices in the gardening world, Adam Frost will interview landscape designer Chris Young about his new book, Gardens, Annotated: Your Guide to the Design of 200 Gardens from Around the World. With Adam’s experience as a designer, presenter and gardener, and Chris’s background in landscape design, garden journalism and horticulture, it promises to be a fascinating and inspiring conversation about the ideas, plants and design principles that bring great gardens to life.
Gardens, Annotated is a stunning photographic compendium exploring 200 gardens from around the world, spanning different styles, climates and sizes. Looking closely at the design choices behind each garden, Chris breaks down key principles - from focal points and routes to planting and materials - into simple, accessible ideas that can inspire your own garden.
In conversation with Adam, Chris will explore the ideas behind the book, sharing his thoughts on garden design, planting and what we can learn from some of the world’s most inspiring gardens. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask Chris and Adam your own questions.
Chris Young is a garden writer, publisher and landscape designer, Editor-in-Chief of the RHS Encyclopedia of Garden Design and former Head of Editorial at the RHS. He works with a variety of clients from DK Books to the Royal Parks, Rutland Nursery to Westland Horticulture, as well as RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden designers and brands. He’s also a regular host at Rutland Nursery - so he’s more used to asking the questions than answering them!
