Festive Letterpress Card and Gift Tag Printing Workshop with Green Machine Creative

Green Machine Creative returns to Rutland Nursery for a festive, hands-on letterpress printing workshop, offering the chance to experience the craft and charm of traditional printmaking.

Using vintage Adana tabletop presses and traditional wood and metal type, participants will create their own mini-edition of five beautifully crafted festive letterpress cards, along with a small batch of gift tags, using a collection of seasonal designs brought by Lucy. Discover the tactile quality and craftsmanship of a centuries-old technique that digital printing simply cannot replicate.

Led by Lucy Douglas, founder of Green Machine Creative, this workshop is perfect for anyone with an interest in printmaking, typography, handmade stationery, or simply creating something unique by hand.

Workshop highlights

Introduction & equipment overview – A guided introduction to the tools, presses and materials, with an overview of the letterpress process.

Preparation & printing process – Have a go at ink mixing and colour matching before learning how to print your own set of festive cards and gift tags.

Finishing touches – Complete your cards by printing the reverse, trimming corners and pairing them with envelopes, ready to share or gift.

All materials and equipment are provided, along with festive refreshments throughout the session.
