Rutland Nursery welcomes a very special Authors in Conversation event as our host Chris Young talks with one of Britain’s most beloved chefs, Rick Stein, about his new book, Rick Stein’s Cookery Course.
Rick Stein has been cooking for over 60 years, and in this landmark new BBC book he shares the essential cookery knowledge, techniques and recipes gathered throughout his extraordinary career. Bringing together a lifetime of culinary expertise, Rick Stein’s Cookery Course is his most comprehensive book to date - a guide that takes cooks right back to basics while celebrating the joy of good food.
Featuring 150 recipes, including revised and updated classics alongside new creations, the book is organised around key ingredients: eggs and dairy, vegetables, fish and shellfish, meat and poultry, pulses and grains. Each recipe is accompanied by step-by-step technique photography, helpful tips and Rick’s personal stories, making this an essential volume for both experienced cooks and those looking to build confidence in the kitchen.
In conversation with Chris Young, Rick will share insights from his remarkable career, his approach to cooking, and the inspiration behind this definitive cookery course. Guests will hear stories from one of the UK’s most respected chefs and discover the knowledge behind the recipes that have made Rick Stein a household name.
The interview will be followed by a Q&A, so come armed with your questions, this is your chance to ask Rick about his cooking, career, recipes and experiences.
